TITLE:Veterinarian Technician Practices Instructor - One Year Appointment
Howard G. Sackett Technical Center, Glenfield, NY

DUTIES: The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a team of educators to provide a program of instruction in Veterinary Practices. A project-based learning approach will be key.

Duties include:
· Preparing students for careers and post-secondary education related to Veterinary Practices.
· Integrating 21st Century skills, employability skills, and academic standards with the program and with daily instruction
· Meeting / planning with local industry advisory committee for continuous improvement of the program
· Preparing students for national industry-based technical assessment in veterinarian technician practices.

QUALIFICATIONS: New York State Teacher Certification in Animal Science or eligibility for a Transitional A Certificate. Candidates applying for a Transitional A Certificate must possess at least the minimum requirements per NYS Education which is a combination of experience in the field, education, and required workshops and tests.

SALARY: Commensurate with certification/experience and in keeping with the negotiated agreement with the BOCES Professional Association

Our rapidly growing urban high school program of agricultural education is seeking an additional teacher of plant science/animal science.  The department currently has eight full-time teachers of agriculture and boasts a comprehensive curriculum and excellent teaching facilities encompassing all aspects of the field.  We maintain a four-acre land laboratory complete with animal barns, greenhouses, field crops, an orchard, and a plant nursery, as well as an extensive agricultural mechanics shop  Interested individuals should contact:
