Aquaculture
In this event students will demonstrate their general knowledge in several topics related to water quality, fish diseases, aquaculture sytems and general nutrition. They will do this with a test, and team pratical.
Creed Sr. Division.
This event includes both an oral presentation as well as answering questions directly related to the FFA Creed. Each contestant must recite the FFA Creed from memory.Sr. Creed is for 1st year students in 10th, 11th and 12th grades.
Extemporaneous Public Speaking-Jr. Division
The extemporaneous speaking event requires participants to deliver a speech on one of three agricultural topics after they are given 30 minutes to prepare the four to six minute speech. At the conclusion of the speech, the judges may question the speakers for five minutes. Decisions are based on factors similar to the prepared event held, as well as other leadership activities and events, to give members additional opportunities to develop speaking skills.
People in Agriculture
Members will develop a poster board of people in different fields of agriculture and then prepare a summary and be able to discuss the job requirements associated with those jobs.
This contest is available to 6th, 7th and 8th graders.
Prepared Public Speaking- Jr. Division
The prepared public speaking event requires participants to write and deliver a four to six minute speech in front of a panel of judges. Scoring is based on the written manuscript, the delivery of the speech and the answers to the questions.
Small Animal Care
This event is open to senior FFA members. There are three skill areas that the team participates in: a phone interview, persona interview and a grooming scenario. Students are also expected to be able to identify Dog and Cat breeds and parasitology. Students are scored individually and as a team.

Discussion Meet
This event is an activity designed to build crucial skills in young, active agriculturalists. By participating, members build basic discussion skill, develop a keen understanding of important agricultural issues and explore how groups can pool knowledge to reach consensus and solve problems.
Tool Id
Junior FFA members will identify forty agricultural tools and materials and complete a ten question matching test of tools to their use. Teams may consist of 3-4 students-the lowest score is not considered except in the case of a tie.
Junior Chapter Meeting
Members work together as a team to demonstrate the proper procedures associated with FFA chapter meetings including: Opening and Closing Ceremonies, officer and committee reports, and disposal of business items using parliamentary procedure. The event is open to all Junior FFA members and consists of a chapter meeting quiz, demonstration of a chapter meeting, and answering questions related to the demonstration.
Junior Quiz Bowl
Junior FFA members answer FFA and general agriculture questions in a head to head tournament contest to be held annually at the New York State FFA Convention.
