New York Agricultural Education is directed by several boards, each serving a specific purpose.  The Governing Board is made up of regionally elected teacher trustees (serving three years each) and the state officer team (serving one).  The board meets multiple times a year - in person and otherwise - to make decisions regarding the policy and practices of the New York FFA Association.

The board works as a whole and by committee to serve the association.  The board makes decisions by adhering to the constitution, by-laws and policy book.  They can propose changes to any of the documents in order to best-serve the association, but changes to the constitution must be passed by the delegate body at the state FFA convention.
